Culver's Root

Culver's Root, (Veronicastrum virginicum) is also called; Culver’s-root, Culverphysic, Culver's Physic, Bowman's Root, or Black Root. The shape of the plant is reminiscent of a candelabra. It has been used as a physic/cathartic/purgative medicine. It was prescribed as a laxative by Dr. Culver, for whom it is named.
