Snow Geese
A flock of thousands of snow geese (Chen caerulescens) are panicked into flight when a bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is sighted overhead. They are more vulnerable on the ground, and none of them want to be the last one left on the ground. So, in their panic to escape, they occasionally fly into each other. In about thirty seconds 5,000 - 10,000 snow geese were in flight. Bald eagles commonly prey on waterfowl. Snow geese have a blue morph that is called a blue goose or simply blue morph. These snow geese are mostly white, but there are some blue morphs and immature birds in this flock. They are also called; greater snow goose, or lesser snow goose.
