Yellowback Poison Arrow Frog (Dendrobates tinctorius ‘Citronella') are also known as; Dyeing Poison Dart Frog, Dyeing Poison Arrow Frog, Citronella Dart Frog, Citronellas, Cits (slang for Citronellas). The name “dyeing” comes from the incorrect belief that the natives used brightly colored frogs to dye fabric. The pet trade breeders, have bred these frogs until there are currently about fifteen color variations. The Citronella name refers to it's bright lemon yellow color.
